Beasts of Katalisk (カタリスクの獣, Katarisuku no Kemono) are artificial Astral Spirits created by Kelvina Sofita Elmos. They were intended to be used as a next-gen energy source for Imperial weapons.[1]
Appearance[]
The Beasts of Katalisk resemble humanoid beings that glow violet.
Personality[]
They are mindless creatures that simply follow orders. Kelvina considered them her pets; and if she gave the order, they could self-destruct into violet flames.
History[]
The Beasts of Katalisk were created by Kelvina at Elza's Sarcophagus through giant furnaces that harnessed astral energy from an underground Vortex.
Synopsis[]
Volume 4[]
The Eight Great Apostles provided Kelvina with an Object to load with an artificial astral spirit. Its destructive capabilities were shown during the raid at Alsamira's oil refinery.[1]
In the anime's version of events, the Object ejected its core and released the Beast of Katalisk , which took the form of an astral spirit and imprisoned Sisbell inside itself. Although Iska initially fought it alone, he was eventually joined by Alice who just arrived. The astral spirit then concentrated astral energy in its abdomen and fired it at the two. However, the attack doesn't connect because Alice uses her "Ice Flower" to shield them. The duo fight back, and launch a beam consisting of ice crystals and the astral energy that Iska cut with the astral swords, completely destroying the Beast of Katalisk.
Abilities[]
- Intangibility: They are able to phase through objects but also materialize to interact with physical objects.
- Flight: Due to their spirit-like nature, the Beasts of Katalisk can also fly.
- Life-form Integra (cannon for planetary disassembly): A devastating beam of astral energy that could evaporate everything it touched. Even if it wasn't a direct hit, the heat wave would blast away every human being in the area without a trace.[1]
