"Intersection: Awakening of the Vortex" (交差 ―ボルテックス覚醒―, Kōsa -Borutekkusu Kakusei-) is the fifth episode of the KimiSen anime series.
Synopsis[]
The members of Unit N07 successfully locate the vortex, but the Sovereignty had already found it. After Mismis is captured, Iska must fight against Kissing, a purebred, to get her back before the Empire attacks the Sovereignty base.
Summary[]
Alice and Rin arrive at the vortex. Soon after, Lord Mask and Kissing join them. However, Alice doesn't trust Lord Mask's intentions.
Unit N07 learns that it's possible that the missing units were kidnapped. Nevertheless, they must continue with their mission and search for the vortex, which they find soon after. Another team then arrives, Shanorotte's. But something seems off. Shanorotte reveals that she was part of the Sovereignty all along, including the other members of her unit, who are mages.
Nameless arrives and quickly disposes of Shanorette's unit. However, Shanorotte manages to escape, taking Mismis as a hostage. Iska and the rest of the team go after Mismis while Nameless heads back to the base.
Shanorotte arrives at the vortex with Mismis, with the latter recognizing Alice. But before Mismis can speak about it, Rin hits her on the back of her head, rendering her unconscious. Alice and Rin then head out to find Iska.
Unit N07 eventually finds the enemy base, planning to rescue their captain before the Empire destroys the vortex. Iska manages to get inside and starts to fight Shanorotte. However, Kissing appears and uses her abilities to execute Lord Mask's orders.
Meanwhile, Alice is waiting for Iska at the Imperial base, which seems to be abandoned. Nameless then shows up and almost manages to strike Alice if it wasn't for Rin.
Iska and Kissing fight each other, but they seem to be evenly matched. The same goes for Nameless and Alice. But Nameless retreats after Alice shows off the true extent of her abilities.
Back to the Sovereignty's camp, Kissing unleashes her full destructive power. Still, Iska manages to defeat her with a blow to the stomach. Iska is about to bring Kissing in when Lord Mask suddenly appears and stabs the young man in the back. The masked purebred also kicks Mismis into the vortex, causing to Iska jump in after her. In order to fight the Imperial soldier again, Alice jumps in as well to save them both. But it's too late, and an explosion of light occurs.
On the surface, Jhin and Nene find their comrades. Iska can't explain how they survived the vortex.
