Synopsis

Fate has guided Iska and Alice together once more as they cross paths at an Imperial painter’s art exhibit. There, they agree to meet again—only this time, to settle the score! But when an ancient power awakens to threaten their very lives, Alice is forced to choose between her country and her ideals! Up against an all-powerful foe, will the two heroes form an unlikely alliance—or find themselves unable to overcome their allegiances?

Summary

Iska and Alice both have tickets to see an art exhibit in the neutral city. Alice refuses to walk alongside Iska and finds herself lost. She reluctantly joins Iska in his walk around the city when he repeats her earlier words that art holds no boundaries. They stay out so late they fall asleep leaning against each other on a bench. Alice remembers that Iska is dangerous, but can’t seem to avoid him enough.

Iska is summoned to a meeting with the apostles. He is offered the chance to capture the Ice Calamity Witch (Alice) for the rank of Apostle. He is conflicted about what to do, he desires peace, and his ability to get along with Alice has made him question if war is worth it.

Alice offers Iska to serve under her. She explains his plan will not work, but their goals are the same. Iska refuses, having ties to the empire and they reach a stalemate.

The eldest witch has awakened and began to battle Iska. She considers Alice to be sided with the empire. She is ruthless and will destroy anything in her path. She was sent by the Star Spirit Queen to retrieve Iska’s swords.

Alice is rendered unable to fight. She manages to smuggle Iska an ice bloom shiel. They manage to defeat Nebulis, the eldest witch. Iska and Alice agree they will battle each other another day.
