Synopsis[]
A vortex-a fount of light that has the power to turn those it chooses into astral mages-has appeared, and both the Empire and the Nebulis Sovereignty are hot on its tail, each determined to stop the other from getting their hands on it. But great care must be exercised, especially by the Imperials, as those who dare venture too close just might find the mark of a witch freshly emblazoned on their skin...
Summary[]
A vortex has appeared, which can potentially create new mages and strengthen Astral Spirits. The Empire wants to gain control of it to prevent the Nebulis Sovereignty from growing in numbers and strength, but they fail.
Two purebloods are already there, and Mismis is almost taken out. Despite being saved by Iska, Mismis has become an Astral Mage due to exposure to the vortex. The team decides to conceal her new power and keeps her as captain.
Rin plans to destroy Alice and Iska's relationship, and when the two meet again in a neutral city, Rin drugs and kidnaps Iska. Mismis witnesses this and allows her Astral Spirit to go rampant, but Alice advises her not to use her powers in a neutral city.
The Empire plans to rescue Iska by giving Unit 907 fake Astral Crests on their bodies so they can infiltrate the Nebulis Sovereignty. Rin and Alice take Iska to a hotel for holding.
