Sir Karosos Newton is the tenth seat of the Saint Disciples and the head of the research facility. He is known as the "sickliest researcher" in the Department of Weapons Development.[3]
Appearance[]
Newton looks like a middle-aged man with a van dyke-style beard. He wears a white coat and a monocle. His nickname comes from the fact that his shoulders and limbs look as if they would snap against the slightest of breezes.[2]
In the manga, Newtow has a longer mustache and beard, which reaches his chest.
Personality[]
Newton is a very enthusiastic person, as shown when he was picked for the special mission and when he passed the Astral Crest inspection.
History[]
Newton is the head of the Omen Institute for Astral Research, the only organization authorized to study astral energy in the Empire. At some point, he took an ambitious researcher under his wing, Kelvina Sofita Elmos. However, she began experimenting on humans and went against Omen's very principles, forcing them to cut ties with her as she was arrested for treason.[2]

Sir Karosos Newton meets with the ninth seat Statulle in order to inform him about a vulnerable purebred witch that was outside the Sovereignty, seeking permission to borrow the Witch Hunter in order capture her.[3]
Volume 5[]
Newton was one of the seven Saint Disciples chosen to participate in the mission to capture the Queen of the Nebulis Sovereignty, and he was very eager for it.
Anime-exclusive additions[]
Newton passes the checkpoint.
Using artificial Astral Crests, Newton and Garganly manage to fool the checkpoint and infiltrate the Nebulis Sovereignty. The two are the last ones to arrive, as the others are already in Central State.
Volume 9[]
After the invasion of Nebulis Sovereignty, Newton examines Nameless' infected arm but is unsure of whether or not it will heal. He proposes using a new medicine created from an ore that fights astral powers, and Nameless doesn't mind being used as a test subject so long as Newton cures him.
He eventually starts reminiscing about Kelvina, a criminal Nameless has heard of. Newtown informs his fellow Saint Disciple that she escaped and theorizes that she had help from some higher-up in the government, as she was imprisoned in the Empire's most secure prison and was able to disappear without being captured immediately. The two then return to their original conversation, and he tells Nameless to rest as he prepares the treatment.

Relationships[]
The two only seem to have a professional relationship, but they are otherwise not on friendly terms, as Statulle commented that Karosos was always trouble and only lent him the witch hunter at a high cost.
Kelvina was once his subordinate, whom he saw promise in. However, it was discovered that she lacked morals and had experimented on people, causing her to be arrested as Newton cut all ties with her. He considers her a disappointment, and remembering her name is enough to disgust him.[2]
