Mismis falling into a vortex
A Vortex is a location where astral energy materializes and erupts from the earth.[1] They appear spontaneously and can be found all over the world.
Overview[]
If one bathes in this energy, and is deemed worthy by the astral spirit, that person receives its power and becomes an Astral Mage.[2]
And those who are already mages become even stronger with this energy, strong enough to even rival purebred mages. However, if their powers aren't compatible with the vortex, it would do nothing.[3] For example, the vortex where Mismis Klass fell into gave off green astral light, indicating that it contained a wind astral spirit. If a flame or earth astral mage used the vortex, they would not receive this increase in power.
Because vortexes gave birth to the Astral Mages due to the Great Star Disaster, they are the main cause for the war between the Heavenly Empire and the Nebulis Sovereignty.
